Welcome to the Ohio Veterans Career Assistance Network, where veterans, active duty service members and members of the National Guard and Reserves can connect with employers who value and support military service to America. Ohio Vets Can was created by AMVETS, Department of Ohio and the Ohio National Guard to improve employment opportunities for the men and women who have faithfully served our nation.

For Job Seekers
If you are looking for employment, check out our Job Board. You can search for jobs without registering, but employers will not be able to find you. If you want to post your resume so military-friendly employers can see it, take a few minutes to create an account and post your resume. There is no cost to you.

You will find two types of job listings on Ohio Vets CAN. Jobs that have been posted by registered military-friendly employers always show up first when you do a job search. However, we know there will not always be a match available between what you want and what military-friendly employers are offering. To ensure you will always find something you are looking for, we �back-fill� your search with jobs from Indeed.com - so jobs posted by military-friendly employers are listed first, followed by similar jobs posted by Indeed.com

Before you register: This website is for veterans, active duty service members and members of the National Guard and Reserves. Impersonating veterans or military personnel for any reason - including looking for a job - is against the law and is punishable by up to six months in jail and up to a $5,000 fine (18 USC Sections 702 and 704). If we find evidence that anyone uses this website who is not eligible to do so, we will promptly and permanently terminate the account.

For Employers
Ohio Vets CAN looks similar to other job boards you may have used � with two big differences:

Only veterans, active duty service members and members of the National Guard or Reserves who have served our nation faithfully may post resumes and apply for jobs, and
It is absolutely free to you, the employer, if you are a military-friendly employer

A military-friendly employer recognizes the sacrifices that our veterans and active duty troops have made - leaving behind jobs, friends and family and often serving at great personal risk because they �more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life.� You are a military-friendly employer if you:

Understand that veterans have been trained to lead by example and they know how to manage behaviors for results, even in the most trying circumstances.
Know that to a veteran, genuine teamwork grows out of a responsibility to one's colleagues.
Recognize that veterans understand the rigors of tight schedules and limited resources. They know how to achieve priorities on time, in spite of tremendous stress and understand the importance of staying on task until the job is done right.
Understand that veterans know what it means to do "an honest day's work" and have a track record of integrity, sincerity, accountability and trustworthiness.
Recognize in veterans a high level of personal maturity � men and women who often have proven their mettle in mission-critical situations that demanded endurance, stamina and flexibility.

When you visit the Job Board, you can create a user account, enabling you to post jobs and view resumes that have been posted. There is no limit on the number of jobs you can post or resumes you can view. And because of your support for the men and women, past and present, who have served our country, this service is provided to you absolutely free.
